How to Add Built-in Camera (iOS)

The DVR.Webcam app will automatically detect your device's built-in cameras. When you run the app for the first time, it will automatically set up one of your built-in cameras. If your device has both front and back cameras, you can edit the camera settings and switch between them.

The app allows one built-in camera only, and it cannot run both the front and back camera at the same time.

Audio can be added to built-in cameras.

  • Tap on the camera to show the Edit button.

  • Select "Edit Camera."

  • Select the built-in camera and audio.
How to Add IP Cameras (iOS)

You can add IP cameras from your home network. The app currently supports MJPEG, JPEG and H.264 cameras.

Due to a limitation of iOS devices, you can only add up to 3 cameras (one built-in camera + two IP cameras, or zero built-in camera + three IP cameras).

To add an IP camera, you will need to enter the camera's access URL for its image stream. The app has a built-in search tool to help you find the URL. Simply enter your camera make/model into the search box, and locate your camera. Then, enter the required fields such as the camera's IP address, login ID, and password, etc.

If your IP camera is not supported, please contact us.

  • Tap the "i" button and select "Add New Camera."

  • Search by Camera Model

You can play back recordings from the current device, or from another iOS device or mac computer running the same app. This allows you remotely view live recordings. For example, you can use the app to do DVR recording from a mac at home, and then use your iPhone to view it remotely when you are away.

The recording range slider at the bottom shows all available recordings for the selected camera and selected date. The green section indicates the time ranges when the recording is available. When the recording is not available (for instance, when the app is not recording), the section will show as white.

You can use the range slider to zoom into a specific time range. This will give you a sub-range to view.

The recording detail slider at the top shows the sub-range of the recordings selected by the range slider. Again, the green section indicates recordings are available.

In addition, if motion detection is turned on, it will show the motion level at the time as a red bar. The height of the red bar indicates the motion intensity. To play back recording at a specific time, adjust the detail slider to the time you are interested.

The app also lets you download and save the recorded video to your local device. You can also manually delete the recordings from the cloud storage.
